HOW are people using this subscription feature for people to pay for access, without creating a 'grab and go' type of situation?!
I'm currently creating a big course. It's going to have a pretty hefty price tag (at least for my audience) and I'm a little uncertain how to proceed regarding payment. Previously, I've offered two options: full price, and payment plan. I think the most months I've offered for a plan is 4, as beyond that, people are done and dusted. There's always stragglers, but the majority are done within a few months if they're ever going to finish at all.
The course I'm creating now isn't a paced course, it's all going to be available after the start date for people to work through at their own pace. There's a lot there, no way I can pace it accurately for individuals. When I've taught it previously, I've had some people complete the whole thing in two weeks flat out (admittedly this was in lockdown, when they may have had more time). But some people take considerably longer, months - and this new version has a lot more to it (it's a new, improved version!)
Question 1: payment plan vs subscription for ONE course?
I want to make the payments more affordable, so I was wondering about using the subscription payment model for people to pay for access.
BUT - I'm REALLY worried that people will pay a low monthly amount, whizz through the whole thing and screenshot/copy paste the lesson notes, then back out and leave. I'll only get ONE small payment, but they get to do the course. Obviously, that's it - they won't have further access to me or the materials, but I can imagine it happening.
The alternative is to split the monthly payments into smaller chunks, say over six months - which would suit some people's pace and make it affordable - but would also string it out too long for others, who'll find themselves paying long after completing the course.
How do I find the balance, and how could the subscription model work - if at all??
Question 2: subscription for MORE THAN one course, without using membership/community
One other option I've considered is a community where people pay for access to ALL my courses. But I'm keeping my powder dry on using the community/membership, because I want it to become something else in the near future (and we can only create ONE community, yes?). Is this a case where I could create a BUNDLE of all my products and sell them with a monthly subscription??? There's no way they could work their way through the whole lot, it'd keep them occupied for a long time!!
Question 3: repeat customers?
Finally, with that model, what could I do with people who may have already bought one or two of the products in the bundle - or more - but who want access to some others via subscription, including this 'new' course? Would they feel they're just paying more for things they've already paid for/had access to?? How could this incorporate repeat customers smoothly?
