I'd like to use the community feature, but I don't understand its purpose.

If someone buys my product or subscribes to the mailing list, can they automatically get access to the community and can they automatically get access to a specific discussion? Is there an option somewhere in the product to set that for this specific product the customer will have access to a specific discussion? I have only found the option to join Discord and allow the Product Owner the Discord community. Why?

In order to create a recurring membership payment, I need to create a community and create a membership in that community and link it to a specific Product (course, lecture package). I need to have this recurring membership payment for a specific Product, but I don't need a community/discord option for that. But there is no other membership option.

It seems like the community and membership functionality is just built on its head. I can't find a reasonable way to use it.

Am I missing something? Am I doing something wrong? What are other users using it for?
