As posted on our Podia Status page, we have been in the process of migrating videos from our old video hosting provider to a new one. Our new host, Cloudflare, has much faster upload and processing speeds, and their robust hosting infrastructure will serve your videos more quickly to your customers.
It’s been a huge undertaking that we started back in early spring to move millions of videos. We’ve spent thousands of hours ensuring that things would work, and thankfully most of it has gone soundly and without any issues.
As of this email, we are having to re-process ~400,000 videos that have been uploaded to our new video hosting provider at a rate of ~4,000 videos/hour, which will be completed by October 11th, 2024.
We would love to bump up the processing speed from ~4,000 videos/hour, but are limited from doing so for technical reasons.
For those of you who are seeing errors when viewing your videos, these videos having to be re-processed is the cause, and it will all be resolved before the end of the week.
As I mentioned above, we spent thousands of hours testing and working through this migration, but technology is complicated, especially when you’re moving 2 million videos. We’re thankful that this migration is almost concluded and we thank you for holding tight for a few more days as the final batch of videos re-processes.
If you’re seeing any errors whatsoever — you shouldn’t by the end of this week — please email our support team who can log it and investigate.Â
While the majority of Podia users should be having a seamless experience here, we apologize for the frustration that anyone with these temporary issues is facing. We take your trust in us very seriously and are confident that everything will be resolved by the end of this week, and that everyone on Podia will have a much better, and faster, video experience on the other side of this.
Best,
Spencer
